The short version: qrDude does not collect, store, or share your personal data. Everything you create stays on your device. We don't have accounts, servers, or analytics that track who you are.
This Privacy Policy describes how Dude Logic Labs ("we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with the qrDude mobile application ("the App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our practices.
Information We Do Not Collect
qrDude is designed to work entirely on your device. We do not collect:
- Your name, email address, or any account information
- The QR codes you create, their content, or the data they encode
- Images or photos accessed during QR code scanning
- Your location
- Your contacts or address book
- Usage analytics, session data, or behavioral tracking data
- Device identifiers tied to your identity
Data Stored on Your Device
qrDude stores the following data locally on your device only:
- Your saved QR codes — including the content, type, and any customization settings you applied
- App preferences — display settings and any in-app configuration you choose
This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly share a QR code using your device's native share sheet. We have no access to it.
Camera Usage
qrDude requests access to your device's camera solely to enable the QR code scanner. Camera access is used only in real time while you are actively scanning. We do not capture, store, transmit, or process camera images or video in any way beyond what is needed to decode a QR code on-screen.
You can revoke camera permission at any time in your iOS Settings. Revoking camera access disables the scanning feature but does not affect QR code creation or your saved codes.
Photo Library
If you choose to save a QR code to your Photos app, qrDude will request write access to your photo library for that action only. We do not read from your photo library. You may revoke this permission in iOS Settings at any time.
Third-Party Services
qrDude does not integrate third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, crash reporting services, or social login providers that collect personal information.
The App is distributed through the Apple App Store. Apple may collect certain data as described in Apple's Privacy Policy. This is separate from and not controlled by Dude Logic Labs.
Children's Privacy
qrDude does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. The App does not require account creation or submission of any personal information to use. If you believe a child has provided personal information through our App, please contact us and we will address it promptly.
Data Security
Because all data generated by qrDude is stored only on your local device and we collect no personal information, there is no data transmitted to or stored on our servers. Your QR codes and preferences are protected by your device's own security (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID).
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of those changes.
Your Rights
Since we do not collect personal data, there is typically no data for us to provide, correct, or delete. If you have questions about data that may be held by Apple in connection with the App Store, please refer to Apple's privacy controls.
To delete all local data stored by qrDude, simply delete the App from your device. This permanently removes all saved QR codes and preferences.
